PROD X | AMBER · Pre-launch · scouting designers now

Certified · Designers

A community of real designers, vetted by other designers. Portfolios alone are not enough anymore. Our industry is changing, so we decided to change too. Product, UX, web, marketing, brand, motion, content. If you design for a living, this is for you.

what it is

A community of real designers. Not a job site.

AMBER is a vetted community. Real designers and developers, verified by humans, gathered in one place. We are not a marketplace. We are not a job board. We do not match you to gigs. We build the credential that proves you are real, the people behind your work are real, and the craft is real.

what it isn't

No portfolios. No pitching. No noise.

The market is full of people selling design and development they cannot actually do. AI made it trivial to fake the work. AMBER does not ask you to out-pitch them. We verify the human, the training, and the craft directly. Once you are in, the badge speaks for you everywhere else.

what is a designer

A designer is more than a portfolio.

A designer is a trained professional. Someone who knows the rules, the fundamentals, the frameworks, the dos and don'ts. Typography. Color theory. The science of design and why it matters. They know when to break a rule, and why. They can defend the work because they understand it.

who we want

Real designers, across every discipline.

If you do the work for a living, we want you in. The community is intentionally cross-disciplinary because the work is. Product, UX, web, brand, marketing, graphic, content, motion, service, industrial, instructional — and we know you are usually more than one of these. Aren't we all?

what you get

A credential.
Validated by other designers.

When you are accepted, you carry a certification that says you are a real designer, and what type. The credential is granted by people who do the work, not by an algorithm. It is the signal that cuts through the noise the industry is drowning in right now. As AI capabilities evolve, the difference between practitioners and pretenders only matters more. The badge speaks to it for you.

the stance

We're not anti-AI. We're anti-fake.

AMBER designers use AI. Of course they do. They're real practitioners who treat it the way a carpenter treats power tools. Better work, faster, with the skill behind it intact. What AMBER filters out is people who can't tell when AI output is wrong, who can't fix it when it breaks, and who sell services they don't understand. The badge says the human knows the craft. AI is their tool, not their crutch.

02 / verification

Four checks.
One badge.

Every applicant goes through the same review. We don't grade on a curve, and we don't accept on volume. Real practitioners get in. Pretenders don't.

01

Identity

Verified ID. Real name. Real face. The human is real before anything else gets reviewed.

02

Training

Documented training and real project history. Where you learned the craft, what you've actually shipped, and what your role was on it.

03

References

Two reachable references confirm role, contribution, and what it was like to work with you when the project got hard.

04

Craft review

A practicing designer reviews the work. We check that you can defend the decisions, fix what AI got wrong, and ship without supervision.

03 / why apply now

Founding seats are limited.

We are in pre-launch scouting and looking for representation across the design industry. Product, UX, web, brand, marketing, graphic, content, motion, service, industrial, instructional. We want one of each discipline at the table early, and we know most designers are more than one of these. Aren't we all?

01

Free to submit interest.

Tell us who you are and what you design. We review every application by hand. The $99 evaluation fee only applies after you are accepted.

02

Portfolios are not the gate.

Your work is verified through real references and a live craft review by a practicing designer. Stop polishing case studies that no one reads.

03

Founding seat in the community.

You help define what AMBER stands for. Voting input on standards, member benefits, and how the credential evolves as the industry does.

04

Optional: open to freelance work.

If you want to be considered for freelance opportunities, there is an opt-in for that. As the community grows, so will the opportunities. More on this at another time.

Submit your interest. Free.

If you are accepted, the certification evaluation fee is $99.
